RT 🚨 THE FINAL COUNTDOWN BEGINS — COWBOYS vs. GIANTS WEEK 18 IS LOCKED IN, AND EVERYTHING IS ON THE LINE ⏳🏈
FRISCO, Texas – With their postseason hopes long extinguished, the Dallas Cowboys turn their full attention to Week 18 and a chance to end the disappointing 2025 season on a high note. The Cowboys will host the New York Giants on Sunday, January 4, at AT&T Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 12:00 p.m. CT.

This marks the fourth consecutive season since the NFL expanded to 18 regular-season games in 2021 that Dallas will play their final game on Sunday. In each of the previous three years, they’ve played three Week 18 games on Sunday and one on Saturday.
Dallas enters the matchup riding a dominant streak against their NFC East rivals: the Cowboys have won the last nine games against the Giants and lead the all-time series 78-47-2.
Dak Prescott’s Historic Streak on the Line
If Dak Prescott plays in Sunday’s finale, he’ll have an opportunity to extend his NFL-best streak of consecutive wins against a single opponent since 1980. Prescott is currently 14-0 against the Giants, with his last loss to New York coming in his rookie season of 2016.
In Week 2 this year, Prescott threw for 361 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in a thrilling 40-37 overtime victory over the Giants—the first win of head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s tenure.
A Strong NFC East Record
With one game remaining, the Cowboys hold a 4-1 record against the NFC East. A win Sunday would give them a 5-1 division record for the second time in the last three seasons. Dallas has not finished with a losing record against division opponents in a single season since 2020.
Schottenheimer Reflects on Emotional Week 2 Win
The Week 2 victory was especially meaningful for Schottenheimer. After the game, he reflected on receiving the game ball from Prescott and owner Jerry Jones: “I was really good coming off the field. And then when Dak presented me, he and Jerry presented me with the game ball, that was pretty special for me. Cool way to win your first game. You know, you’ll remember it forever, but the words that Dak and the players said to me after the game is why it’s so special. It’s, I expect the first of many, but I’ll remember this one forever because of the fight in these guys.”
Final Thoughts
The Cowboys enter the finale at 7-8-1 (pending the outcome of their final game). A win would improve them to 8-8-1 and give them a strong division record despite a season filled with ups and downs.
Dallas will look to end 2025 with momentum and pride, while also giving Prescott a chance to etch his name deeper into NFL history. Kickoff is Sunday, January 4, at 12:00 p.m. CT at AT&T Stadium.
