R1 The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially ruled out T.J. Watt for Sunday’s pivotal AFC North showdown against the Cleveland Browns

The NFL has made its decision on the Dallas Cowboys’ season finale.

The Dallas Cowboys got back to winning ways on Christmas Day with a much-needed 30-23 victory over the Washington Commanders. This was Dallas’ first win in its last four games.

Dak Prescott led the charge against the Commanders, finishing with 19-of-37 completed passes for 307 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. The five-time Pro Bowler also rushed four times for an additional 24 yards.

The victory did not have any bearing in terms of the Cowboys’ season after they had already been eliminated from playoff contention. Nevertheless, the fact that they got back in the win column is a positive development for this team.

Dallas, now 7-8-1, will close out its campaign against the New York Giants in Week 18. The Cowboys will be on the road for their season finale as Jaxson Dart and Co. host the contest at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

On Sunday night, following the primetime matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Chicago Bears, the NFL announced the final schedule for Week 18.

The Cowboys and the Giants will play on Sunday, Jan. 4, with kickoff scheduled at 1:00 p.m. ET.

The Cowboys will be seeking a second consecutive victory in Week 18 as they look to end their campaign on a high note. This will be the second straight season Dallas misses the playoffs.

As for the Giants, Dart and Co. finally busted out of their nine-game losing streak on Sunday after defeating the Las Vegas Raiders, 34-10. New York, now 3-13, will also want to end 2025 on a high.

Dak Prescott joins elite club of active NFL quarterbacks

There is one game left on the Dallas Cowboys 2025 schedule, and it is once again a road division game versus a team Dak Prescott has owned throughout his career.

Prescott has dominated the New York Giants since dropping his first two games against them his rookie season by a combined four points.

The Giants have had no answer for Prescott, as the quarterback of America’s Team has bested the team from The Big Apple in 14 consecutive games.

While we fully expect Prescott to add another 300-yard passing day to his league-leading 2025 total, he doesn’t need to pass for another yard to still be included in an elite list of active quarterbacks.

Prescott Joins the Club

Headed into Week 18, Dak Prescott leads the NFL with 4,482 passing yards, but it’s his third touchdown pass of the day versus the Washington Commanders that put him into an elite club.

With that 30th touchdown pass, Prescott ties three other active quarterbacks for most seasons with 4000+ passing yards and 30+ passing TDs.

Prescott joined the likes of Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes, and Jared Goff in this elite club.

The only active quarterbacks with more are Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers with eight, and recently unretired Indianapolis Colts QB Philip Rivers, who has six.

Even though Prescott’s accomplishment did not lead to a playoff berth, we can still celebrate having one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

Looking Back

This season, Prescott hit the 4,000-yard/30TD threshold with George Pickens (1,420/9TD) and CeeDee Lamb (1,073/3TD) as his top two pass catchers.

Let’s take a look at the other three seasons he has accomplished this feat, along with his top pass catchers and end-of-season result.

2019 (4,902/30TD), 8-8 missed playoffs

Prescott’s top pass catchers in 2019 were wide receivers Amari Cooper (1,189/8TD) and Michael Gallup (1,107/6TD).

Veteran Randall Cobb also pitched in 828 yards and three touchdowns of his own.

In yet another wasted Prescott season, the Cowboys missed the playoffs.

2021 (4,449/37TD), 12-5 LOST in Wildcard round

Prescott’s top pass catchers in 2021 were CeeDee Lamb (1,102/6TD), Amari Cooper (865/8TD), and Dalton Schultz (808/8TD).

Many regard the 2021 season as the best of Prescott’s career because he performed so well just one season after his gruesome lower leg injury he suffered in 2020.

The Cowboys secured the third seed in the conference, but fell at home to the visiting San Francisco 49ers in an upset for an early playoff exit.

2023 (4,516/36TD), 12-5 LOST in Wildcard round

The 2023 season is one of the most disappointing in recent memory.

Dak Prescott was robbed of the MVP by Lamar Jackson, and the Cowboys secured the second seed in the NFC, just to get blown out by Jordan Love and the Packers at AT&T Stadium.

The leading receivers that season were CeeDee Lamb (1,749/12TD) and a steep drop off to TE Jake Ferguson (761/5TD).

It’s remarkable what Prescott was able to accomplish with no viable playmaker outside of Lamb.
