3S.Travis Kelce now owns part of Six Flags, including Kansas City’s Worlds of Fun

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce loves to have fun.
Now he owns it.
Kelce is one of several people involved in an investment group known as JANA Partners.
The group now owns a minority stake in Six Flags Entertainment.
“I am a lifelong Six Flags fan and grew up going to these parks with my family and friends,” Kelce said. “The chance to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn’t pass up.”
JANA Partners said it plans to work with the Six Flags’ Board and management team on a number of things, including:
- Improving the experience for guests
- Revitalizing the experience at amusement parks
- Improving operations and modernizing parks
- Evaluating potential acquisition opportunities
Six Flags merged with Cedar Fair in July 2024, and now owns Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun in Kansas City. The company owns dozens of amusement and water parks across North America.
The Kelce brothers talked about their love of amusement parks in a TikTok video.
Travis said they went to amusement parks “once or twice a year” growing up. He also remembered the roller coasters at the parks.
“As a kid I didn’t go on any of them. It wasn’t until I got to college and then after college when I went back to Cedar Point that I could finally go on the Millenium Force and the Dragster and all these rides,” Kelce said in the video.
The brothers then joked about throwing on GoPro cameras and heading to Cedar Point one more time.
