kk.UPDATE: Patrick Mahomes Spotted Without Knee Brace

Kansas City, MO — During what has been one of the most uncertain stretches of his career, Patrick Mahomes offered a glimpse of resilience and normalcy while continuing his recovery from a devastating ACL injury suffered late last NFL season.
The Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback was recently spotted attending a friend’s wedding in his home state of Texas alongside his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
The couple appeared relaxed and cheerful as they celebrated the wedding of their friend Kate Van Wyk, briefly stepping away from the intense rehabilitation process that has dominated Mahomes’ offseason.
Photos shared on Brittany’s Instagram captured the moment. She wore a pale pink dress with a dramatic slit along the left side, posing with the bride during the celebration.
Mahomes, meanwhile, kept things casual in a pale blue button-down shirt, dark blue pants, and white sneakers, completing the Texas look with a brown cowboy hat.
In one of the most talked-about images from the event, Mahomes was seen raising and finishing a cold Coors Light while mingling with guests.
While the moment appeared lighthearted, fans quickly noticed something even more significant. The quarterback did not appear to be wearing a knee brace.
That small detail sparked optimism among Chiefs fans who have been closely monitoring the progress of their franchise leader’s recovery.
Mahomes initially suffered the ACL tear toward the end of the previous season, an injury that many feared could sideline him for a large portion of the upcoming campaign.
Early projections suggested the star quarterback might miss the opening stretch of the new season. However, recent updates from NFL insiders indicate that his recovery may be progressing faster than originally expected.

According to Fox Sports reporter Jay Glazer, Mahomes’ extraordinary pain tolerance and relentless work ethic are major factors accelerating the process.
“His pain threshold is different, his work ethic is different,”
Glazer explained during an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show. “I’d probably hedge on him being back sooner than people expect. He just attacks things.”

Another key factor in the recovery timeline was Mahomes’ quick decision to undergo surgery before significant swelling developed in the injured knee. The procedure reportedly took place early in the week, and within days he had already begun rehabilitation work inside the Chiefs’ training facility.
Glazer added that by the end of that same week, Mahomes had already regained approximately 90 degrees of knee bend. For most players, that milestone would normally take much longer to reach.
“Patrick’s different,” Glazer said. “He heals differently.”
While no official return date has been confirmed, the rapid progress has begun to reshape expectations for Kansas City’s upcoming season. If Mahomes continues recovering at this pace, the Chiefs could see their franchise quarterback back on the field far earlier than originally feared.
