4t CHIEFS ROSTER SHOCKER UNLEASHED: Andy Reid Drops Jaw-Dropping Confirmation — Rookie Sensation Josh Simmons Returns to Practice After Weeks of Mysterious Absence Tied to a “Deeply Serious Personal Crisis” That Had Kansas City on Edge!

For the first time in two weeks, there’s good news inside Arrowhead. Head coach Andy Reid confirmed that rookie left tackle Josh Simmons
will return to practice this week after missing time due to what the team described as a “personal matter.”
Simmons, the Chiefs’ first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, had been away from the team since Week 5, sparking speculation about his sudden disappearance. Reid addressed the situation calmly during his Monday presser, emphasizing that Simmons’ absence was private but not related to any disciplinary or medical issue.
“We know we’ve got a good player in there,” Reid said. “We know what Josh is capable of. It’s not a negative situation at all — we’ll just see where we’re at when he gets back.”
Those words provided relief for both teammates and fans, who had grown increasingly concerned about the 22-year-old’s status. Simmons was reportedly dealing with a serious personal issue that required him to step away from football temporarily — a decision that Reid and general manager Brett Veach both fully supported.

Reid explained that the team kept in contact with Simmons throughout his absence and that the organization prioritized his well-being over any competitive urgency. “Sometimes life steps in front of football,”
Reid added. “You handle what you’ve got to handle. We’re glad he’s doing better and excited to get him back in the mix.”
In Simmons’ absence, veteran tackle Jaylon Moore filled in on the left side, holding down the position but clearly missing the athleticism and raw power Simmons had shown through his first five starts. The Chiefs’ offensive line has battled through multiple adjustments this season, making Simmons’ return a timely boost ahead of their upcoming divisional matchup.
The rookie’s return is expected to be gradual, with the coaching staff easing him back into full-speed reps. Reid noted that the plan is to “get him moving, let him knock off some rust, and make sure he’s in a good spot mentally and physically.”
While Reid didn’t disclose any further details about Simmons’ personal matter, he was firm in his support — and clear that the situation had strengthened the team’s bond. “These guys care about each other,”
he said. “Josh is family here. We’re just happy to have him back where he belongs.”
For Chiefs Kingdom, the message was simple and uplifting: the young tackle is home, healthy, and ready to resume his journey — both on and off the field.
