RK In a heart-wrenching move, the Dallas Cowboys have officially launched a season-long tribute to fallen guard Marshawn Kneeland, following tragic developments in his final hour. Fans, teammates, and the league now rally for a moment of unity and remembrance.

Both wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and defensive tackle Solomon Thomas penned soul-stirring tributes on social media after the news broke. Cowboys co-owner Stephen Jones was the first to receive the devastating call about Kneeland’s death in the middle of the night.
“Any time you get news like that, obviously it’s like a hole going through your heart,” Jones said on the 105.3 The Fan radio show. “I certainly was hoping that wasn’t the case. He’s so authentic in everything he’s about. He’s certainly feeling the pain of all our players. And we know all our players will deal differently. Everybody deals with grief in different ways.”
Kneeland was selected by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Western Michigan. He had one sack, 15 tackles, and six quarterback pressures across seven games this season. Marshawn had a promising career that was tragically cut short.

Kneeland reportedly passed away from a self-inflicted gunshot wound following a crash on the southbound lanes of Dallas Parkway, as per The Dallas Morning News.
However, before that, he sent a message to the people closest to him. As per reports, Kneeland had sent a “goodbye” text to his loved ones before his death. His girlfriend, Catalina, had reportedly sent an alert, informing the police that the 24-year-old had a history of mental health struggles.
During the search, officers discovered Kneeland inside a portable restroom on Nov. 6.
