During the ceremony, he will also receive a musical tribute from a group of special guest artists that have not yet been announced.
Sarah Trahern, the chief executive officer for the CMA, said in a statement, “Vince embodies the very best of what country music stands for. He’s a true trailblazer, one who gives back to the community, honors the roots of our genre, and even now continues to share his talent with fans across the globe.”
Trahern continued, “As a Country Music Hall of Fame member, 18-time CMA Award winner, and former 12-time CMA Awards host, he remains a vibrant force in our industry, and we’re honored to celebrate an artist whose influence is so deeply woven into the fabric of our format.”
Since Willie Nelson received the inaugural award in 2012, other recipients include Kris Kristofferson, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, George Strait, and Kenny Rogers.
Country star Lainey Wilson will be on hosting duties for this year’s Country Music Association Awards with Megan Moroney, Ella Langley and Zach Top among those set to perform in Nashville on November 19th.
Gill, who has been a member of Eagles since 2017 following the death of Glenn Frey, is currently playing a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas with the group, which has recently been extended into 2026.
