Elon Musk has confirmed his reconciliation with former President Donald Trump after a dinner meeting at Mar-a-Lago in January 2026, signaling an end to their bitter public fallout. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO shared details of the dinner in a post on X, saying, “Had a lovely dinner last night with @POTUS and @FLOTUS. 2026 is going to be amazing!” Musk tagged both Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in his tweet.

This meeting comes after a highly publicized dispute between the two men in mid-2025, which began when Musk strongly criticized Trump’s major tax and spending bill, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill. Musk had labeled the legislation as a “disgusting abomination,” prompting a sharp backlash from Trump, who accused Musk of betraying him.

As the feud escalated, Trump expressed his disappointment, warning that Musk’s companies could lose out on government contracts and subsidies. Musk retaliated with a series of controversial posts, even linking Trump to the Jeffrey Epstein case, which deepened the rift between them.

However, the tension began to ease when Musk later apologized for his comments, admitting that he had gone too far. In response, Trump publicly accepted the apology, telling the New York Post that he appreciated Musk’s change of heart. This moment of reconciliation seemed to pave the way for their renewed relationship.

Now, with Musk openly acknowledging their meeting and relationship shift, it’s clear that the two have moved past their feud. In another post, Musk shared a photo of himself with Trump, captioning it, “2026 will be spectacular!” This public display of camaraderie marks a dramatic reversal from their earlier animosity, hinting at a fresh start as the new year unfolds.
