bv. NFL Officially Fines Browns WR Jerry Jeudy After Punching Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr. During Week 6 Clash

Tensions between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers reached a boiling point in Week 6 after wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was caught on camera throwing a punch at cornerback Joey Porter Jr. during a heated moment on the field.
The incident occurred midway through the second quarter following a physical play near the sideline. While Jeudy was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, he avoided ejection — a decision that immediately sparked backlash among Steelers fans.
After reviewing the footage, the NFL’s disciplinary committee determined that Jeudy’s actions violated the league’s player safety code, describing the move as “intentional and unnecessary physical aggression.”
“That’s not how we want players expressing their competitiveness,” an NFL spokesperson said. “We value passion, but crossing the line into violence has consequences.”
According to the official report released Saturday, Jerry Jeudy has been fined $12,172 for Unnecessary Roughness (Striking/Kicking/Tripping/Kneeing) related to the incident with Joey Porter Jr.
Porter Jr., who avoided serious injury, declined to comment in detail after the game, only saying:
“I let my play do the talking. We’re the Steelers — we don’t back down from anyone.”
The fine adds another chapter to the long-standing Steelers–Browns rivalry, with their rematch later this season now carrying even more fire and emotion.
