HH. 9 Teams Submit Trade Offers for Steelers QB Mason Rudolph — Market Heating Up Fast
The quarterback market is heating up fast, and one name has emerged as a highly sought-after asset: Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph. After an impressive preseason performance, Rudolph has quickly become one of the most intriguing players on the trade market, with at least nine NFL teams reportedly making inquiries about acquiring the veteran signal-caller.

Rudolph, who joined the Steelers in 2025 on a one-year contract, has shown poise, precision, and a level of command that belies his experience. While preseason games are typically viewed with caution when it comes to predicting future success, Rudolph’s ability to execute in high-pressure situations has garnered significant attention across the league. His performance has sparked discussions within NFL front offices, leading to an uptick in trade offers.
Why Rudolph is in High Demand
Rudolph’s extensive experience and leadership make him an attractive option for teams in need of quarterback depth or even a potential backup with starting potential. At 6-foot-5, Rudolph has the ideal size for an NFL quarterback, and his calm demeanor in the pocket has caught the eye of several NFL teams. His ability to read defenses, make quick decisions, and deliver accurate throws has given scouts confidence that he could provide valuable depth in any quarterback room.
While Rudolph has seen both highs and lows in his career, his veteran presence and leadership make him an ideal mentor and potential fill-in starter for teams with uncertain quarterback situations.
Teams Interested in Rudolph
Multiple sources within the league have confirmed that at least nine teams have submitted trade offers for Rudolph. Here’s a breakdown of the teams reportedly interested in the Steelers’ backup signal-caller:
- Miami Dolphins: With questions about Tua Tagovailoa’s long-term health, Rudolph is seen as a seasoned backup who could step in if necessary. Pairing him with weapons like Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill could keep the offense rolling.
- New York Jets: If the experiment with Zach Wilson falters, Rudolph’s experience and leadership could provide stability for a team looking for a reliable backup and potential starter.
- Cleveland Browns:With an aging and injury-prone roster, the Browns are looking to invest in solid veteran depth, and Rudolph’s proven track record has caught their attention.
- Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens value efficient quarterbacks who can execute in their run-heavy offense. Rudolph’s decision-making would offer solid depth behind Lamar Jackson.
- Indianapolis Colts: With Anthony Richardson still developing, Rudolph could provide much-needed mentorship and step in if necessary.
- Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence’s injury history has made the Jaguars consider bolstering their quarterback depth. Rudolph could provide a reliable option as a backup quarterback.
- Houston Texans: Although C.J. Stroud is their franchise quarterback, Rudolph’s poise and ability to protect the football make him an attractive addition behind Stroud in case of injury or developmental needs.
- New Orleans Saints: With an unsettled quarterback situation, Rudolph could compete for a starting role, offering a reliable and experienced option to lead the offense.
- Arizona Cardinals: With Kyler Murray’s future uncertain, Rudolph could be part of a bridge plan to maintain continuity at the quarterback position while developing a future starter.
The Future of Rudolph
Although no trade is imminent, Rudolph’s performance in the preseason has undoubtedly caused a stir around the league. NFL teams are known to be cautious in the offseason, but with quarterback depth at a premium and Rudolph’s potential on full display, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the trade market intensify in the coming weeks. The Steelers, while currently confident in their starter Kenny Pickett, may ultimately decide to field the best offer for Rudolph, especially if a team is willing to offer valuable assets in return.
As the preseason progresses and teams fine-tune their rosters, expect the conversation surrounding Mason Rudolph to grow louder. For quarterback-needy teams, he may be the perfect fit—someone with the tools to become a starter in the right system, making him one of the most intriguing trade targets as the regular season approaches.
Packers Make Telling RB Move Amid Josh Jacobs Injury Concerns

The Green Bay Packers are beefing up the running backs room before they travel to play the Arizona Cardinals in the desert on Sunday, October 19.
Starter Josh Jacobs was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday with an illness and a calf injury. He returned as a full participant on Friday, though remained questionable for the team’s Week 7 game as of Saturday.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Saturday how Green Bay is guarding against Jacobs’ potential lack of availability, or lack of full capability, against the Cardinals.
“Packers elevated RB Pierre Strong Jr. from their practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game at Arizona,” Schefter posted to X. “Packers CB Keisean Nixon also has been added to the injury report and is questionable for Sunday’s game due to illness.”
Pierre Strong Jr. Has Proven Himself Sturdy Reserve Running Back Across 3 NFL Seasons
Strong spent the last two years with the Cleveland Browns after coming into the NFL as a member of the New England Patriots.
Over the course of his career, Strong has tallied 99 carries for 499 rushing yards (5.0 yards per attempt) and two TDs. He has also netted 26 receptions for 193 receiving yards and returned 24 kickoffs during his time in the league.
Strong has appeared in 46 games, though he has just one start.
Meanwhile, Jacobs has struggled in 2025 compared to the Pro Bowl campaign he produced last season. Jacobs has played in all five games this year, rushing for 359 yards across 98 carries (3.7 yards per haul), though he has found the end zone six times on the ground. He has also caught 15 passes for 176 yards.
Packers Dealing With Long List of Injured Players Who Are Questionable Against the Cardinals

Green Bay’s injury report is disturbingly long, though only a few key players are guaranteed to sit against Arizona.
Edge rusher Lukas Van Ness and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt will both miss Sunday’s game due to foot and knee injuries, respectively, per the team’s official injury report. Wide receiver Christian Watson also remains sidelined due to a knee injury he suffered in January.
Tackle Anthony Belton (ankle), cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee), kicker Brandon McManus (right quadricep), offensive lineman Jacob Monk (hamstring), right tackle Zach Tom (oblique, back) and wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) were all questionable to play against the Cardinals as of Saturday.
Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray is also questionable to play in the game due to a foot injury that left him a limited participant in practice all week. Thus, Green Bay opened as 6.5-point road favorites, even despite all of the team’s injury uncertainty.
That line has since moved to 7.5 points, per ESPN BET, indicating that new factors have arisen making the Cardinals even less likely to win and/or significant money has come in on the Packers.
