HH. Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers Has Chance at Historic Moment vs. Packers

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers could make history against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has already passed some all-time great quarterbacks in the record books early this season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Sunday against his former team, Rodgers will have an opportunity to tie a mark that can’t be surpassed.
If Rodgers leads the Steelers to a victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, the veteran signal-caller will have a regular season win against all 32 NFL franchises.
Only four quarterbacks have accomplished that feat in league history — Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Tom Brady.
Sunday will be the first time Rodgers faces the Packers in his career. The signal-caller spent 18 years in Green Bay. During his tenure, he won four MVP awards and led the franchise to a fourth Super Bowl title.
In 230 regular season games with the Packers, Rodgers posted a 147-75-1 record as a starter. He also tossed 475 touchdowns and threw for 59,055 yards.
Aaron Rodgers Set to Face Packers on Sunday Night Football
Rodgers already had a grudge match in the season opener. That was against the New York Jets, who traded for the veteran quarterback from the Packers two years ago.
The Jets released Rodgers in March. The quarterback voiced that he didn’t care for how the move happened over the offseason, which led to ill-will at least from the quarterback.
Rodgers squaring off against the Packers won’t quite have the same drama. But it’s arguably a bigger deal since his tenure was so long in Green Bay.
Rodgers’ 475 touchdowns with the Packers is third most for any quarterback with a single team in NFL history. His 59,000-plus passing yards also ranks in the top 10 for signal-callers with one franchise.
Rodgers’ four MVP awards is second only to Manning in NFL history. Rodgers is also tied with Manning for the most MVP awards with one team.
Entering Week 8, Rodgers is one of seven quarterbacks with wins against 31 teams. One of those seven other quarterbacks is Ben Roethlisberger, who defeated every team in the league except the Steelers.
Obviously, Roethlisberger never played against the Steelers in his career.
Steelers-Packers Battle of First-Place North Teams
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur set the tone for the week Monday when he addressed facing his first starting quarterback as a head coach.
“We’re playing the Pittsburgh Steelers, who happen to have Aaron Rodgers,” LaFleur told reporters Monday. “It’s as simple as that. That is for you guys to talk about.”
It’s likely the Steelers coaching staff and players, including even Rodgers, will feel that way too.
Coming off a loss against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Steelers will be trying to avoid consecutive defeats for the first time this season on Sunday night. With a win, Pittsburgh can also maintain its healthy lead in the AFC North.
Things can change quickly in the NFL. But through seven weeks, the NFC North has been more competitive than the AFC’s northern division.
Every team in the NFC North is at least .500. The Detroit Lions won again Monday night to move within percentage points of the Packers.
Green Bay must win to remain ahead of the Lions, who will be on a bye during Week 8.
The Steelers-Packers matchup will kick off at 8:20 pm ET on NBC/Peacock.
Chiefs Reward Emerging Rookie After Devastating Injury News

The Kansas City Chiefs revealed a 53-man roster move ahead of Week 8, following the Omarr Norman-Lott injury news on October 20.

“We have placed DT Omarr Norman-Lott on Reserve/Injured. We have signed Practice Squad player CB Kevin Knowles to an active roster contract,” the Chiefs announced on October 21.
We have placed DT Omarr Norman-Lott on Reserve/Injured.
We have signed Practice Squad player CB Kevin Knowles to an active roster contract.
Knowles, 22, is an undrafted rookie who emerged throughout the spring and summer, only to earn three immediate practice squad elevations from Week 2 through Week 4.
Although Knowles is a cornerback and nickel DB by trade, the rookie has done well to impress special teams coordinator Dave Toub. For that reason, 100% of his NFL snaps so far have come on special teams.
Within an organization like Kansas City’s, that show of trust can reveal a great deal. Not only does Knowles provide energy and juice, but he’s also likely a very intelligent, hard-working, and polished youngster if he’s caught the eye of Toub and head coach Andy Reid this early.
Omarr Norman-Lott’s Rookie Season Is Over as Chiefs Make IR News Official

There is no sugarcoating it, losing Norman-Lott to a torn ACL hurts. The Chiefs’ interior defensive line depth was very thin going into draft season earlier this spring.
Then, KC revealed their master plan, spending a second-round selection on the Tennessee product. And Norman-Lott lived up to the hype throughout training camp and the early season.
Despite only registering 1.0 sack and 1 tackle for a loss over his first 5 games, Norman-Lott plugged a hole on the Chiefs’ D-line, and he had been doing his job well for a rookie. The hope was that he’d continue to develop as the season progressed, eventually turning into Chris Jones’ right-hand man on the interior.
Now that development will be halted for the remainder of this season, and potentially, most of next year’s spring and summer program.
In the meantime, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach must also replace Norman-Lott, which he has yet to do.
Chiefs Beat Reporter Calls for ‘Reinforcements’ Ahead of Week 8
Yesterday, on October 20, Chiefs Digest beat reporter Matt Derrick posted a call to action after hearing the Norman-Lott news.
“[The] Chiefs need reinforcements on the interior,” Derrick proclaimed on X, and he’s not wrong.
As noted above, Veach must add some more defensive tackle help in the coming weeks. The first roster move after Norman-Lott’s injury, Knowles’ promotion, ignores this need. But the Chiefs likely have another transaction or two up their sleeve.
Kansas City only has Jones, Derrick Nnadi and Jerry Tillery left on the active roster at D-tackle, although Mike Danna and Malik Herring can help out inside in certain situations.
They also have DTs Zacch Pickens, Brodric Martin and Marlon Tuipulotu on the practice squad. And you can expect that one or two of them will be elevated for Week 8, assuming no one else is signed to the active roster between now and Monday night.
Of the three, Martin has already been elevated once in 2025 (but did not appear in the game), and Tuipulotu has been elevated twice. That means Tuipulotu can only be elevated one more time before he must join Knowles on the 53-man roster.
