kk.Patrick Mahomes Announcement Turns Heads Amid Chiefs’ Offseason

The Kansas City Chiefs finished the year with a disappointing 6-11 record, the franchise’s worst in the Patrick Mahomes era.

Making matters worse, Mahomes tore his ACL and LCL in the final few minutes of Kansas City’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15, a defeat that bumped the Chiefs from playoff contention.
The 30-year-old immediately flew home to Texas and underwent reconstructive surgery by Dallas Cowboys physician, Dr. Daniel Cooper. In a Zoom interview last week, the three-time Super Bowl MVP revealed his goal is to be ready for Week 1 of the 2026 season.
“The doctor kind of gives you goals to get to,” Mahomes said. “I just try to maximize those – they hold me back, because I always want to go a little bit further.”

“It’s hard, but at the same time you’ve got to kind of flip the script fast knowing that it’s going to be a quick turnaround to get to this season. Now it’s just been motivating trying to push myself… as much as they’ll let me push myself to be ready for next year.”
While Mahomes works toward his return, he’s also keeping up with his off-the-field ventures. Mahomes, a longtime Adidas partner, is taking his brand partnership to an unheard-of new level.
