PS.Indian Boy’s Neck Bent 180 Degrees Due to Rare Condition — A Fight to Hold His Head Up Again.
A 13-year-old boy named Mahendra from India has captured global attention after reports from the Daily Mail on October 10 revealed his extraordinary and heartbreaking condition.

Mahendra suffers from a rare muscular disorder that has caused the muscles in his neck to weaken so severely that his head bends backward at a 180-degree angle, twisting sideways in a way that makes even the simplest movements painful and exhausting.
Doctors explained that the condition affects the cervical muscles, leaving him unable to support his own head. His spine and ligaments, over time, adapted to this abnormal posture, making it nearly impossible for him to lift his head upright without assistance.

Despite the challenges, Mahendra remains mentally alert and full of hope, dreaming of one day living like other children — going to school, playing outside, and looking people in the eye again. His mother shared that his condition began worsening when he was around 8 years old, and local doctors were initially unable to identify the cause

After years of struggle and financial hardship, Mahendra’s family finally caught international attention. Surgeons have offered to evaluate him for a potential corrective operation, though the procedure carries significant risks.

Humanitarian groups and strangers online have begun raising funds for his treatment, expressing admiration for his strength, courage, and quiet resilience in the face of what most would find unbearable.
“All I want,” Mahendra reportedly said, “is to be able to lift my head and see the sky.”
His story serves as a powerful reminder of both the fragility and resilience of the human body — and the unbreakable spirit of a boy who refuses to give up.
