Lainey Wilson is already proving that she plans to bring her witty personality and signature style to her role as solo host of this year’s CMA Awards. The country star recently shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes video giving fans a taste of what’s to come.
“Hey, I’m Lainey Wilson, your host for Country Music’s Biggest Night, the CMA Awards,” she began.

The songstress looked to her left and to her right to see if any other co-hosts would be joining her. When no one else appeared on the screen, she concluded, “Alright, looks like I’m running the show.”
From there, the video quickly took a comedic turn as she requested massive speakers, called for more energy from the crowd, and demanded the perfect wardrobe. However, when she requested a glamorous look for the coveted evening arrived, she was presented with a fluffy ballgown, which hardly fits into Lainey Wilson’s usual style.
“A ball gown?” she asked confused.
With a snap of her fingers, a hot pink rhinestone pantsuit appeared, complete with a stylish cowboy hat.
“There’s some bell in them bottoms,” she joked while scanning the outfit and then nodding in
“This is what it’s all about,” she said.
With speakers blaring, a perfect wardrobe on display, and a few glowing trophies placed around her, Wilson ended the clip with a grin as she stated, “And they say magic isn’t real,” hinting that this year’s ceremony is shaping up to be truly magical.
The caption revealed that “Country Music’s Biggest Night is back and bigger than ever!” and encouraged fans not to miss all the excitement that will on Wednesday, Nov. 19 on ABC and next day on Hulu.
This will mark Wilson’s second year hosting the elite event. Last year, she took the stage alongside Luke Bryan and former NFL star, Peyton Manning, but now, she’s running the show for The 59th Annual CMA Awards.

She recently revealed that she plans to take a page out of her former co-hosts book and include some clever jokes and maybe even a few roasts aimed at her fellow country stars.
“If I can poke fun at people, hey, we good,” she said during an interview on Rolling Stone‘s Nashville Now podcast. “I tried to get them to let me do it last year and they were like, ‘whoa, whoa, whoa… that’s too far.’ But I go way back with these people. Let me make fun of Luke Combs, please.”
Wilson is heading into the night a six-time nominee, tying with Ella Langley and Megan Moroney as the top contenders at CMA Awards. Among her nominations, Wilson is in the running for the night’s top honor, CMA Entertainer of the Year, alongside to- Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and Morgan Wallen.
“I’m humbled that CMA has trusted me with this role, and I can’t wait to love on this genre that has given me so much,” she added.
Just a couple weeks before the CMA Awards, Lainey Wilson will wrap up her Whirlwind World Tour with a stop in Orlando, FL on November 8.
