qq. TRAGIC BLOW ROCKS NFL: Cowboys’ Rising Phenom Marshawn Kneeland, 24, DEAD SUDDENLY – Coach Schottenheimer Breaks Down with Devastating News… The League is SHATTERED!

FRISCO, TX — With heavy hearts, Brian Schottenheimer, head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, addressed the press and team today to share the devastating news of the passing of Marshawn Kneeland, the Cowboys’ young defensive end, who was just 24 years old.

“We have lost a teammate, a friend, and an important member of the Cowboys family,” Schottenheimer said, his voice choked with emotion. “Marshawn showed up every day with a smile, with determination, and with a willingness to do whatever it took for the team. He didn’t just play football — he represented the spirit of this team.”
Kneeland was drafted in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft from Western Michigan and was in his second season with the Cowboys. Just days before his passing, he made an impact on the field with a notable play — recovering a blocked punt and scoring a touchdown in a game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Schottenheimer continued:
“Marshawn was always the same guy every day — at practice, at games, and in everything he did. Losing him is truly a shock to all of us.”
The Cowboys organization and management have expressed their deepest condolences to Kneeland’s girlfriend, Catalina, and his family. “Marshawn was a beloved member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers are with Catalina and his family during this incredibly difficult time.” — Cowboys official statement.
The cause of Kneeland’s death has yet to be officially revealed.
