R1 Dallas Goedert just pulled off a feat no Eagles tight end has EVER accomplished — rewriting the record books in midnight green.

After a key turnover in the first quarter of the Week 17 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Buffalo Bills, history was made in New York.
The Eagles got a long completion from Jalen Hurts to A.J. Brown that brought the Birds inside the 20-yard line. Philly would close out the drive with a play-action touchdown pass from Hurts to tight end Dallas Goedert.
That touchdown catch from Goedert was a big one for him personally and for the Eagles’ history. Goedert caught his 11th touchdown of the season, not only a career high, but he passed Pete Retzlaff for the most touchdown catches by an Eagles tight end in a season.
Goedert makes history with his 11th score of the season
It was a rough start to the season for Goedert, who dealt with injuries, but he has become a critical red-zone target in the passing game. Multiple times throughout the season, Hurts has looked for Goedert inside the 10-yard line to get an easy completion and score.
The receptions and yards for the season by Goedert will not blow anyone away, but he has been efficient with every catch. Going into the Bills game, he has caught 57 passes for 583 yards, averaging 10.2 yards per reception.
Expect more of that the rest of the game and the season for the Eagles as Hurts has proven to trust Goedert in any situation. The Eagles’ long-time tight end has always been reliable on the field, but the missed games over the last three years have been noticeable to the fan base.
This offseason, Philly will have some tough decisions to make, especially about Goedert and whether to bring him back for 2026. Goedert is expected to get a nice payday with his performance in 2025.
For now, the Eagles fan base will just enjoy having Goedert play so well for the Birds.
