R1 Eagles star Jordan Mailata finally explained what ignited the massive on-field brawl with the Washington Commanders — and it traces back to a hard-fought two-point conversion that pushed emotions past the edge.

Philadelphia Eagles star Jordan Mailata has explained exactly what caused the huge scuffle with the Washington Commanders on Sunday night.
The Eagles defeated the Commanders to secure the NFC East divisional crown in a feisty affair, with over a dozen players involving themselves in a fight on the field at one point in the game.
The NFL has confirmed that no player will be suspended in the fight though, while Pittsburgh Steelers star receiver DK Metcalf being handed a two-game suspension after seemingly punching a Detroit Lions fan.
When asked what he believes happened to start the fight, Mailata said: “Just, you know, the guy (Darius Cooper) tries to finish his block on that two-point conversion. And, I guess whoever he was blocking didn’t like that Darius was trying to do his job.
“There was a little push and shove there at the end of the whistle. Darius got away with a shove before he grabbed Darius by the neck, and that’s when Fred (Johnson) jumped in.”
Johnson swiftly jumped in after Martin had put his hands on Cooper before fellow Eagles offensive lineman Tyler Steen looked to have thrown hands at Commanders cornerback Mike Sainristil.
Steen, at one point, appeared to be pushing and shoving with multiple Commanders players on his own.
Mailata added: “That man [Steen]… I am glad he is on our side!
“I haven’t watched the fight as a whole, I was trying to get our guys. I saw everybody run to the right of me, that’s where Steen was. It was just a little push and shove!”
Martin and Sainristil had both been involved in what then ended up being somewhat of a dogpile before officials had managed to restore order.

Somewhat incredibly, it has been confirmed that no player from either team will be suspended from the huge fight – despite multiple players being penalized.
FOX Sports analyst Greg Olsen said: “From my count, there are six flags right now between the 15 and the five-yard line. And one official doesn’t have a hat.”
The win over the Commanders saw the Eagles capture the NFC East – being the first team to win back-to-back crowns in the division for the first time in two decades.
