RK Star cornerback Trevon Diggs has been officially ruled out vs. the Commanders after a late-night accident at his home, team sources confirm.

Dallas, TX — The Dallas Cowboys will be without one of their top defenders this Sunday, as cornerback Trevon Diggs has officially been ruled out following an unexpected accident at his home Thursday night

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer confirmed Friday that Diggs entered the NFL’s concussion protocol and will not play in the upcoming divisional matchup against the Washington Commanders.

“We’re still gathering all the information,”

Schottenheimer told reporters. “It was an unfortunate incident at his home, but Trevon seems to be doing OK right now.”

The timing of Diggs’ absence comes as a major blow for Dallas, especially with the secondary already struggling for consistency. Diggs had been coming off one of his strongest performances of the season, helping contain Carolina’s passing game in Week 6.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys expect offensive playmakers CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin to return to action, giving quarterback Dak Prescott some much-needed firepower.

As for Diggs, the team is prioritizing his recovery and has not provided a timetable for his return. He will continue to undergo evaluation through the league’s concussion protocol in the coming days.

For now, the Cowboys will rely on DaRon Bland and Jourdan Lewis to anchor the cornerback unit as they prepare for Sunday’s crucial NFC East showdown at AT&T Stadium.
