RM Andy Reid encouraged by key trait as Chiefs keep season alive vs. Colts

It took an overtime battle, but the Kansas City Chiefs preserved their postseason hopes with a gritty 23–20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts at Arrowhead Stadium.
Now sitting at 6–5, Kansas City heads into its Thanksgiving matchup against the Dallas Cowboys feeling optimistic. Kareem Hunt powered the offense with 30 carries and over 100 rushing yards, Patrick Mahomes topped 350 yards through the air, and Rashee Rice added a big 141-yard performance.
The game was far from smooth, especially given its importance, but what stood out most to head coach Andy Reid was the team’s resilience.
“That’s what I value most as a coach—the attitude,” Reid said. “It’s a credit to the players, the coaches, and everyone in the building. No one has been walking around with their head down saying ‘oh no.’ That’s not how our team operates.”
Chiefs remain in the AFC playoff mix
Although most assume the AFC West title is no longer within reach, the Chiefs are firmly back in the race for a wild-card spot. Their win over Indianapolis keeps them positioned to contend as the season continues.
Challenges remain, though. Kansas City still has matchups ahead with the Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, and Los Angeles Chargers. But by taking care of business against the Colts, the Chiefs ensured they remain alive in the hunt.
It wasn’t the cleanest performance, but Kansas City showed the determination it needed. Their mindset proved to be the difference as the defending AFC champions picked themselves up and kept their season moving forward.
