RM Dodgers Pitcher Alex Vesia Announces Heartbreaking Loss of Infant Daughter

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia and his wife Kayla have shared the devastating news of their baby daughter’s passing.

In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Vesia expressed his family’s immense grief, writing:

“Our little angel — we love you forever, and you’ll always be with us.
Our beautiful daughter went to heaven on Sunday, October 26th. Words can’t describe the pain we’re feeling, but we’ll hold her in our hearts and treasure every moment we had with her.”

Vesia went on to thank the Dodgers organization for their compassion and support during this unimaginable time, adding that the baseball community has surrounded them with love.

“We’re so grateful to the Dodgers for their understanding and support. Our baseball family truly showed up for us, and we couldn’t have made it through without them.
Thank you to Dodger Nation, the Blue Jays organization, and all baseball fans for your kindness and messages — every word has brought us comfort.”

The pitcher also extended his gratitude to the Cedars-Sinai medical team, praising the doctors and staff who cared for both Kayla and their daughter Sterling.

“Every person we met there was truly incredible,” he wrote.

The Instagram post included a touching black-and-white photo showing baby Sterling’s tiny hand resting on top of her parents’ hands. The cause of her death has not been made public.

Vesia had been away from the team since October 23, when the Dodgers announced that he and his wife were dealing with a “deeply personal matter” during her third trimester.

During the World Series, both Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays players honored Vesia by wearing hats marked with his number, 51, as a show of unity, love, and compassion.
