Donald Glover shocked his fans with a stunning revelation about his health, explaining that a stroke and several other serious medical concerns were the real reasons behind the cancellation of his New World Tour.
During his performance at the Camp Flog Gnaw Festival on Saturday, the multi-talented artist opened up about the alarming health scare he experienced while on the road last year. He shared that the ordeal began with intense pain in his head while performing in Louisiana. Despite not feeling well, he went ahead with the show. However, his condition worsened, and when he arrived in Houston, he was rushed to the hospital. It was there that doctors informed him he had suffered a stroke.
Glover humorously added, “The first thing I thought was like, ‘Oh, here I am still copying Jamie Foxx,’” referring to the actor’s own health struggles.
But the stroke wasn’t the only medical issue he faced. Glover also revealed that he broke his foot during this time, and doctors later discovered a hole in his heart, which required him to undergo two surgeries.
Looking back on the experience, Glover shared a poignant message with the audience: “They say everyone has two lives, and the second one begins when you realize you only have one. Live your life the way you want. If we get a chance to do this again, it can only get better.”
