RM Elon Musk Explodes at Gavin Newsom: ‘You’re Wrong — My Daughters Love Me, the Woke Virus Took My Son’

Elon Musk has fired back at California Governor Gavin Newsom after a social media post from Newsom’s office mocked the billionaire over his strained relationship with his transgender child. The exchange unfolded on X (formerly Twitter), following a video in which Newsom highlighted his record on transgender rights, saying, “I want to see trans kids… There’s no governor that’s done more pro-trans legislation than I have.”

The video was shared by the official Gavin Newsom Press Office account with a pointed remark aimed at Musk: “Correct. We’re sorry your daughter hates you, Elon.”

Musk quickly responded, disputing the claim and criticizing Newsom’s policies. In his reply, Musk said the post was referring to his child Xavier, now known as Vivian Jenna Wilson, whom he described as suffering from what he called a “woke mind virus.” Despite his harsh language, Musk said he still loves his child and hopes for recovery. He also clarified that Vivian is his son, not his daughter, and added that his daughters—Azure, Exa (who goes by “Y”), and Arcadia—have a loving relationship with him.

This public spat is the latest in a series of clashes between Musk and Newsom, who have long been at odds over topics such as technology regulation, pandemic policies, and LGBTQ+ issues. Musk has consistently spoken out against what he labels “woke ideology,” while Newsom has strongly supported California’s approach to gender-affirming care and related social policies.

Vivian Jenna Wilson, born in 2004 to Elon Musk and author Justine Wilson, was assigned male at birth and originally named Xavier Alexander Musk. She came out as transgender in 2020 and legally changed her name, choosing her mother’s maiden name to distance herself from her father. Vivian has publicly criticized Musk on multiple occasions, once referring to him as a “pathetic man-child,” and has said she has little interest in his life or that of her half-siblings.

Musk, for his part, has repeatedly blamed what he calls the “woke mind virus” for what he describes as the loss of his son, framing the situation as a consequence of progressive social ideology.
