US.BREAKING SIDELINE SHOCKWAVES : Detroit Lions’ Dan Campbell & Amon-Ra St. Brown STUN the NFL With Explosive Reactions to Donald Trump’s Surprise Attendance at the Game vs. Commanders — The Locker Room Fell Silent, Fans ERUPTED, and What Campbell Said Moments Later Left Reporters Frozen and the Entire Nation Divided in Disbelief.

Detroit Lions head coach and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown made their feelings on Donald Trump attending Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders very clear.
The President was on hand to watch the Lions make easy work of the home team at the behest of owner Josh Harris. Trump was treated to boos during the game, but he probably won’t mind at all, as long as the team agrees to name their new $3.7 billion stadium after him.

While fans aren’t particularly fond of Trump at the moment, presumably due to the government shutdown and its impact on the NFL, it meant a great deal to Campbell and St. Brown.
“That’s cool,” the head coach said, per Sky Sports. “You’re talking about the president of the United States. That’s a big deal.”
St. Brown, who was seen doing the “Trump Dance” after scoring a nine-yard touchdown reception, said he opted for fun once he learned the President would be in attendance.
“I heard Trump was going to be at the game,” he told reporters after the 44-22 win. “I don’t know how many times the president’s going to be at the game, so just decided to have some fun.”
Quarterback Jared Goff also said it was “Awesome that he was here.”

Donald Trump Addresses Commanders Stadium Plans
The POTUS spoke on the FOX broadcast during the game, joining the network’s Jonathan Vilma and Kenny Albert in the booth. He spoke about playing football as a teenager in high school, noting that the game was significantly different back then.
“I played tight end, but it was not quite football like this. It was a little bit easier. It wasn’t so tough,” he said.
Trump also discussed the plans for the Commanders’ new stadium. He didn’t confirm having asked for it to be named after him, but noted that he was part of the process.
“They’re going to build a beautiful stadium,” he remarked. “That’s what I’m involved in, we’re getting all the approvals and everything else. And you have a wonderful owner, Josh [Harris] and his group. And you’re going to see some very good things.”
His comments follow thinly-veiled threats of potential approval barriers should the team fail to revert to its old Redskins name.
